Kearsley Academy

Preparing for the future

17th Mar 2019

Year 6 students and their parents from the local area attended Northern Education Trust, Kearsley Academy last night for a presentation about how we all can work together to ensure the transition arrangements from Primary to Secondary School are 'second to none'.

Presentations were given my Mrs McKee, who is the Acting Principal, and a series of wonderful students.

Mrs McKee paid tribute to the 'outstanding and passionate presentations' of the students and offered her thanks also to the parents who had taken the time to come and listen about all of the great things that are happening at Kearsley Academy. Mrs McKee emphasised the academy ethos being 'Outcomes Focussed, Child Centred' and shared some exciting news about Kearsley Academy being ranked as one of the top 10 most improved schools in the country in terms of key examination results. Earlier in the year, Kearsley Academy won a prestigious award for its recent outstanding achievements.

Associate Executive Principal, Mr Buckley, stated "Deciding what school to send your children to is a huge decision. At Northern Education Trust, Kearsley Academy more and more Year 11 students now go on to study higher level qualifications at college or sixth form. This is because, as a result of our hard work, more young people than ever are gaining the 'gold standard' of a suite of good GCSEs including English and Maths. This is really exciting because if this is what we have already achieved, imagine what we will be achieving in a few years' time. The prospects that we have here are endless and there's never been a better time to join Kearsley Academy as a student"

Parents are carers are encouraged to contact the academy to speak to Mr Buckley if they would like to ask any questions.

In the meantime, huge praise is offered to the following students who helped out and presented to the audience at the event:
