UKMT Intermediate maths challenge at Kearsley Academy

In February this year, students from year 9, 10 and 11 took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths challenge. The UKMT Maths Challenges are lively, intriguing multiple-choice question papers, which are designed to stimulate interest in maths in large numbers of pupils. The three levels cover the secondary school range 11-18 and together they attract over 600,000 entries from over 4,000 schools and colleges.

Several of our students received awards from the UKMT for their efforts in the maths challenge.

Levi A received a Silver Certificate, as well as being the highest scoring student both in year 11 and the highest scoring student in the whole school.

The following students received Bronze Certificates for their efforts;

  • Spike M (best in year 9)
  • Lucas F (best in year 10)
  • Sam H
  • Tejay G
  • Samuel W

Certificates are on their way in the post and will be presented in school.

Well done to all those who took part!
