2017/18 Results:

Key Stage 4 Results (GCSE) 2018

48% of students achieved 5+ grades in English and Mathematics.

63% of students achieved a 4+ in English and Mathematics.

Progress 8

The Government has recently introduced a new performance measure called Progress 8 which indicates the progress made by students in secondary school across eight key subjects including English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages.

Our Progress 8 score was -0.39.

Attainment 8

Attainment 8 measures a student's average grade across eight subjects - the same subjects that count for Progress 8. To calculate a student's Attainment 8 score, you add up the points for their eight subjects and divide by 10 to get their Attainment 8 score. To calculate the Academy's Attainment 8 score, you take the average of all our students' scores. Students who do not take eight subjects, score zero for any unfilled slots.

Our Attainment 8 score was 41

English Baccalaureate (EBacc)

The English Baccalaureate is a performance measure of students who achieve grade 5/C or above in English, mathematics, history or geography, science and a language.

20% of students were entered, of which 11% achieved the Ebacc award at a strong pass.


91% of Kearsley Academy students stayed in education or employment after Key Stage 4.
